Offering a unique experience with its maritime coastline and legendary Acadian hospitality, the Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne (VPA) is a cycling route of over 310 paved kilometers (over 600 km with its 14 circuits) that spans 7 municipalities and one rural district. What's more, the Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne is a unifying project and driver of sustainable economic development, focusing on bicycle tourism while improving the health and well-being of the population and protecting the environment.

The final junctions are a crucial step in the development and enhancement of the Véloroute. The network has materialized and now calls for action, ownership. There are other important steps to take before the cycling network is fully developed, and much remains to be done so that it can become a real promotional and development tool for the region.

When you travel a little, you see a lot, a lot of people riding bikes. There are a lot of tourists, there are a lot of people you see traveling with bikes. That makes me confident that cycling is taking an increasingly important place in the Acadian Peninsula.

The Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne (VPA) is the greatest tangible legacy left by the 2009 Congrès mondial acadien (CMA 2009) by granting it its financial surplus. It is hard to review the progress made to complete the Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne. This would not have been possible without the determination and the support of different actors over the past 20 years. The Véloroute de la Péninsule Acadienne is the perfect place to promote physical activity among our young people. Whether it is to take a walk with friends or for an intensive training session, there is something for everyone. Our cross-country ski racing team benefits from the cycling route because several kilometers of roller skiing, biking, and running are possible. The team is happy to challenge and outdo themselves. In fact, we regularly welcome skiers from across the province who come on our beautiful road bike for training. The comments are always the same: “You are lucky! The landscapes are magnificent!
