A lottery to encourage physical health and education

La Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne
Alumni and friends of the Université de Moncton, Shippagan campus (AUMCS), and the Véloroute Péninsule acadienne have joined forces to launch a new lottery, with proceeds going to students and bike path enthusiasts in the region.

"This partnership between the two organizations will enable AUMCS to enhance its bursary program to provide financial assistance to future UMCS students, and the Véloroute de la Péninsule acadienne to maintain its new infrastructure and contribute to the physical health of the Acadian Peninsula community," says Gilles Lanteigne, president of AUMCS.

"Véloroute Péninsule acadienne, a network of over 600 km including 70 km off-road, is a unifying recreational tourism infrastructure with benefits for physical and mental health, our environment and the economy. This lottery is part of a fundraising campaign to improve and maintain the quality of this bicycle path for the population of the Peninsula and our visitors", says Ernest Ferguson, President of the Véloroute Péninsule acadienne.

For a third year, Véloroute PA and AUMCS are joining forces to launch a lottery! Buy your ticket for $100 and you'll have a chance to win one of 32 draws to be held one evening in December. Tickets go on sale August 1, 2023 at the Véloroute boutique (104 rue de l'Aquarium), or you can purchase a lottery ticket directly on the Véloroute website.

A maximum of 800 tickets will be sold. Winners' names will be posted on the Facebook pages of the Université de Moncton, campus de Shippagan (UMCS), and the Véloroute Péninsule acadienne.

Tickets are available at the UMCS bookstore, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at 506 336-3453, and at the Sports Experts store in Tracadie-Sheila during opening hours. Transactions will be made by credit card. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.veloroutepa.ca/impliquez-vous#11.

Good luck to all and thank you for contributing to the post-secondary education of local youth and the physical health of the community.
